Lisa Lederer - CMC Co-Founder, Suzuki Violin
Lisa Lederer has guided hundreds of violin students in their discovery of their own special talents for almost a quarter century. She believes in nurturing the joy and passion of music making, while developing technical skills, confidence and ease of playing. An exponent of the Suzuki Method, Ms. Lederer is the Director and owner of Cambridge Suzuki Violins. She offers weekly Suzuki violin lessons and group classes for all of her students. Her students have performed at the Boston Children's Museum, Boston's Symphony Hall, at the Harvard Square May Fair in Cambridge, MA, The Burren in Somerville, MA and played the National Anthem for the Boston Celtics.
In addition to her studio at the Cambridge Music Consortium, she also currently has a studio in Jamaica Plain, MA and teaches at the Rivers School Conservatory in Weston, MA. She formerly taught at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge MA, where she was the Director of the Suzuki Program for 20 years and was also a violin teacher at the New School of Music in Cambridge and at the Somerville String Camp.
Ms. Lederer trained at the New England Conservatoryand the American Suzuki Institute and is registered through Book 8 with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Active in the Suzuki community, she has served as President of the state-wide Suzuki organization and has directed the MA Suzuki Festival. She has been a guest clinician at Festivals, Workshops and Institutes throughout New England. Ms. Lederer freelances in the Boston area.
